These boots are made under the "Rujo Boots" label, which is a private label brand made in León, Mexico, the Bootmaking capital of the world. I think Rujo Boots are better than Tecovas. They are exceptionally well-made and have a slightly higher heel than standard western boots.
These boots are the "Blake" model and are "midnight" black. The boots are made with 100% caiman skin and calfskin on the shafts. They are the traditional 12-inch height. The western heel height is 1.7 inches. There are pull-tabs are on the sides of the boot for ease of pulling on. Traditional scalloped shafts and decorative stitching complete this good-looking boot. The pegged sole is all leather, and very durable.
The boots run true-to-size and were exceptionally comfortable on the first wear. Rujo Boots calls the insole "cloud walk." They are absolutely right -- the most comfortable boots to walk in that I have had in a long time.
These boots go well with cowboy denim or with a suit for dressy occasions. The craftsmanship of production is great.
First up: with denim
Solid 9-iron pegged leather soles:
The soles with 4 years of wear on 'em (in rotation with my other Rujo Boots):
Next up--these are damn fine dress boots, so here they are with suit slacks:
