These boots are made by Rujo Boots, which is a private brand made in León, Mexico, the Bootmaking capital of the world. I think Rujo Boots are better than Tecovas. They are exceptionally well-made and have a slightly higher heel than standard western boots.
These boots are the "Darin" model, made of pirarucu fish hide sustainably sourced from the Amazon River. They are dyed brown. This exotic skin has a dramatic textured appearance and makes these boots stand out from the crowd!
The boots have calfskin on the shafts. They are the traditional 12-inch height. The western heel height is 1.7 inches. There are pull-tabs are on the sides of the boot for ease of pulling on. Traditional scalloped shafts and decorative stitching complete this good-looking boot. The pegged sole is all leather, and very durable.
The boots run true-to-size and were exceptionally comfortable on the first wear. Rujo Boots calls the insole "cloud walk." They are absolutely right -- the most comfortable boots to walk in that I have had in a long time. The craftsmanship of production is great.
Pegged 9-iron solid leather sole is a sign of quality construction:
