Hispar Harness Patrol Boots

I found these boots listed on a Yahoo store. They were marketed as "patrol boots" and looked interesting. The price was reasonable, so I bought them. They took a long time to arrive, because these boots were made in Pakistan and were shipped from there.

The boots are 19" tall and have an elastic band at the top of the calf instead of a buckle or lace closure. They have a 1-1/4" heel height. The sole is made of a thin strip of cheap rubber.

Unfortunately, the lack of quality reveals itself: the leather is thin. The leather had a hazy oily substance on it when I received the boots, so they required cleaning and polishing. The boots aren't bad, but they're not nearly the quality of Chippewas or Dehners. However, the Dehner Boot Company does not make harness boots, and Justin Brands (makers of Chippewa-branded boots) does not make harness boots as tall as these. I got what I paid for, and they are okay. Not better than that, but they will do.

You can see the oily haze on the boots in the photo below before I cleaned and shined them.
