Frye Black Campus with Lug Soles

Style # 87290 (Mens 14L)

These are men's 14L black campus boots with the Frye label. They were purchased new in May, 2011, by a cousin who didn't like them and gave them to me. I had Vibram 100 lug soles added onto them so I could wear them when I ride my Harley.

Frye boots made in 2011 are cheap, and not nearly the quality of Vintage Frye Boots that were once made in Massachusetts. While these boots are made in the USA, the leather is inferior and very soft, easily scuffed.

The added lug soles, which cost US$90 to have a cobbler install, provides added height and great traction. The overall heel height with the lug soles is 2.25 inches, and the double sole itself is 1/2 inch (1cm). These are interesting boots that I would not have purchased new myself.

These boots look good with a Harley boot band on the left boot
